The bronze acquamanile between the relics displayed at the MAO- Oriental Art Museum.

The splendid bronze acquamanile, a rare piece from the 11th  and 12th century kept in the Pinacoteca Nazionale of Cagliari, will be displayed in the exhibition Goccia a goccia dal cielo cade la vita. Acqua, Islam, arte – Drop by drop, life falls from the sky. Water, Islam, and art at the Oriental Art Museum of Torino, from 13 April to 1 September 2019.

The exhibition, curated by Alessandro Vanoli, is a narration with images, relics, books, and miniatures through the technology, the daily life, and the art that are testimony to the many ways of the utilization of water.

Thanks to the most important European and Extra-European institutions, to private collectors, and to the precious art work kept at the MAO, the exhibition is witness to the variety and the richness of the art pieces related to the theme and to the use of water. There are over 120 displayed artifacts like the Sirian fountain mouths, a Iznik jug of the 15th century, carpets from the 16th to the 19th century, a Sirian glass cup from the 9th-10th century, a perfume diffuser from the 12th-13th century from India, and many manuscripts.

The bronze  bird shaped acquamanile from the Pinacoteca Nazionale of Cagliari is part of this prestigious exhibition as an object of decoration for fountains or for hand washing.
