For this summer 2022, the Sardinia Regional Museums Directorate has organized a busy and diverse calendar of events within its museums.
At Caprera, in the places of Giuseppe Garibaldi’s memory, it will be an intense week of culture, history, literature and landscape.
The first extraordinary opening will be Wednesday, August 10 at the Giuseppe Garibaldi Memorial, from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., last public entrance at 9:15 p.m. By evening lights, it will be possible to visit the modern multimedia rooms, entirely dedicated to the figure of the Hero of the Two Worlds, which unfold within four exhibition blocks, integral parts of the military architecture of Arbuticci, the Savoy fortress that houses the museum. From the exteriors, then, one can admire breathtaking panoramic views, which made even Giuseppe Garibaldi fall in love with the island, made even more evocative by the warm colors of the summer sunset.
A little later, as darkness falls, on what is traditionally known as the night of San Lorenzo, with your eyes turned upward you will be able to observe, as every summer, the spectacle of shooting stars.
On Friday, August 12, at 6 p.m., the Garibaldi Compendium in Caprera will host the presentation of Pietro Picciau’s novel. In the shadow of Clelia’s pine tree, the author will converse with Gianluca Lioni about the second chapter of the saga dedicated to the Hero of the Two Worlds entitled Garibaldi the Sword of the Thousand, Arkadia publisher.
The event marks a new date for Mediterranea. Cultures. Exchanges. Passages, the literary festival organized by the Sardinian Publishers Association.
