On Sunday 14 March 2021, to celebrate National Landscape Day, our museums are organizing a rich calendar of digital events that will be available on social networks.
Here are all the events in detail:
Musei Garibaldini of Caprera. The seascape during Garibaldi’s time. Navigation stories.
An introductory video shot in Caprera including Cala Garibaldi, the Compendio Garibaldino, and the panoramic views of the Memoriale, will be presented. The video will illustrate the surrounding seascape, which includes Cala Garibaldi where Garibaldi docked after his long journeys, or from his return from the Expedition of the Mille, or where he simply swam. The scenes in the Compendio will show the General’s boat, used to travel to Sardinia, and the nautical instruments he used during navigation. Other videos discussing events experienced by Garibaldi will follow throughout Sunday, the 14th of March, from small episodes which happened in the seas of Caprera to extraordinary adventures, including pirate attacks, which happened in the seas around the world. These videos will be posted on our social networks and they will be titled after the names of the ships on which these events took place, such as the “Emma”, the “Carmen”, the “Clorinda”, the “Santa Reparata”, and others.
Museo Sanna of Sassari. Changing landscapes. The history of the Sanna museum and its garden.
To raise people’s awareness of the Landscape theme, the museum will participate in National Landscape Day publishing a thematic podcast on social networks. The digital event aims to promote appreciation of the urban landscape of which the museum is part of, through a story that narrates the territory, its history, and its values.
Pinacoteca nazionale of Sassari. The landscape is narrated…and shared
From the 7th to the 14th of March, the Pinacoteca nazionale of Sassari is planning to create a series of posts to be published on social networks. Images of the most representative and important pieces of the collection will be posted on our social channels. Virtual visitors will be invited to post photos of their favourite places, or reproduce, with a more modern twist, the landscapes of the collection, thereby creating a social campaign which will stimulate new light on the territory. On Sunday, March 15th, there will be a virtual exhibition of all the shared material on our social networks.
