On 23 March 2019, to celebrate the festivities of the recovery of the box containing the simulacrum of Our Lady of Bonaria, the patron saint of Sardinia, the Pinacoteca Nazionale is organizing a guided tour dedicated to the 6 works from the Basilica of Our Lady of Bonaria. This will be the first day of free admittance as established by the MIBAC. Three panels of the Retablo of Bonaria by Michele Cavaro, 1545-1550, the Pala of Saint Orsola by Francesco Pinna, early 16th century, and two painted panels of the Santi Mercedari by an anonymous artist of 1600, will be on display.
The day will be closed by Anna Zedda, art historian, with a lecture titled The art works of the Pinacoteca Nazionale tell the history of Our Lady of Bonaria, followed by a guided tour to admire the paintings.
