The night of San Lorenzo. Miracle, martyrdom, and cult through the art.
On Saturday, 10 August, at 18.00, for the occasion of the night of San Lorenzo, there will be a painting presentation at the Pinacoteca Nazionale of Sassari. The painting is from the Italian nineteenth century, of Neapolitan school, and it is called Portrait of a woman. It is presumably referable to Eusechia, San Gennaro’s wet nurse, and guardian of the ampoules that contain the blood of the Saint.
