The Nativity portrayed in the paintings of the permanent collection of the picture gallery. To learn more about the most representative pictorial artwork related to the birth of Jesus, the Polo Museale of Sardinia presents the exhibition “The Holy Night in art time”. The exhibit begins with an extraordinary opening of the Pinacoteca Nazionale of Sassari, Piazza Santa Caterina 4, on Sunday 17 December 2017, from 9.00 to 18.00.
During the Christmas festivities, the museum organized an exhibition pertaining to the Nativity. The visit will start with “The adoration of the shepherds”, an art piece of great value, by a Flemish author from the seventeenth century. This piece leads the way to the five paintings on display associated to the theme.
This occurrence is part of scheduled events for Musei di Storia with the theme “Gold and Silver”.
The exhibition will be open until 6 January 2018, and every first and third Sunday of the month, Tuesday thru Saturday, from 9.00 to 18.00.
