Pinacoteca nazionale of Cagliari:

A conference by Marco Antonio Scanu titled Leonardo de Alagón and Sardinia during the XV century, between romantic myth and feudal banners, at 17.00.

Through the narration of the mid-fifteenth century Sardinian history, the scholar will lead us to the discovery of the political figure and the personal events surrounding the last Marquis of Oristano Leonardo de Alagón, who became the symbol of the island’s nationalism in the romantic vision of the end of the nineteenth century.

Museo archeologico nazionale of Cagliari:

A conference by Michele Guirguis titled Sardinia during the first half of the first millennium B.C. Mediterranean networks between Sardinians, Phoenicians, and Greeks, at 17.30

As part of the scientific studies related to the exhibition Civilizations and the Mediterranean, Michele Guirguis, from the University of Sassari, will talk about the Phoenician presence in the central-western Mediterranean, focusing on Sardinia. Through the analyses of ancient documents, the scholar will highlight the relationship between the regions affected by the spread of the Phoenician culture during the IX-VIII centuries B.C. until the VI century B.C.
