After renovation work reopens Sanna Archaeological and Ethnographic Museum of Sassari.

On Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at 6 p.m., Director of the Regional Directorate of Museums Sardinia, Luana Toniolo, and Director of the Sanna Museum, Elisabetta Grassi, will inaugurate the reopening of the museum. The Director General of Museums, Massimo Osanna, will speak at the presentation.

The event, of great importance for the city of Sassari and Sardinia, is part of a broader plan of enhancement. It is a moment of great synergy between different offices of the Ministry of Culture: the Regional Secretariat with a project for the redevelopment of the Museum and the setting up of the main room of the Castoldi Pavilion, which began in 2016, and the Regional Directorate of Museums, which in recent months has launched a work plan for the temporary setting up of the entire museum, returning the most important artifacts of the Sanna Museum to the city.

A project idea that will see the launch of numerous initiatives with the involvement of schools, nonprofit associations and universities, for a co-planning and co-design of the future activities of the Museum, which will become an increasingly participatory and inclusive space, the “home” of the city.
