Accessible play. Latest news from the Archaeological Museum.

The Museo Archeologico nazionale of Cagliari will be open until 23.00 on Friday, 2 October 2020.

An online event titled Accessible play. Latest news from the Archaeological Museum will be live on @MuseoArcheoCa  Facebook page, starting at 20.00. New technological tools will be introduced to improve the Museum accessibility.

The videogame Enchanted Sun, designed and created by the students of the European Institute of Design in Cagliari, is set during the Nuragic age, and is aimed to spread the knowledge of archaeology in Sardinia among young people, particularly for those in the age groups between 15 and 22 years old.

The interactive scale model of the archaeological area of Santa Vittoria in Serri, a project called OVER THE VIEW, created by the Research, Development and Higher Education Centre in Sardinia, CRS4, is an incentive for social integration of individuals with sensorial disabilities to better improve their visit at the museum, while experimenting with new technologies. The model, made in 1:200 scale with high resolution, is equipped with sensors which activate during the tactile exploration, providing the description of the most interesting areas. It is also equipped with an interactive conversation engine which, through an audio guide, answers questions in spoken language.

At the end of the presentation, small groups of visitors will be allowed in the workshop to learn about the new accessible tools and to ask the designers questions.

For safety reasons admissions will be limited, therefore reservations are strongly recommended. Without prior reservations, admission cannot be guaranteed.

For reservations, please send an email by 14.00 on Friday 2 October to the following address:
