Integration, hospitality, kinship, and sharing. On the occasion of the World Day of the Migrant and refugee, the Polo Museale of Sardinia, in collaboration of the Comune of Sassari and the cultural association “Theatre en vol” of Sassari, presents “Utopias, fantasies, visions, testimonies. A workshop on the creation and coloring of sculptures inspired by the Nuragic bronze statuettes”. The event will be held on Wednesday 17 January 2018 at 17.30 in the Museo Nazionale Archeologico ed Etnografico “G.A. Sanna” in Sassari. Art works crafted by eight young beneficiaries of the SPRAR program of Sassari (protection system for asylum seekers and refugees) during a workshop organized by the theater group “Theatre en vol” will be on display. Puccio Savioli and Michelle Kramer assisted the young people in the creation of four sculptures, which utilize recovered lumber found on neighboring beaches. These crafts are inspired by some Nuragic bronze statuettes that are part of the museum collection.
These sculptures are the result of a reinterpretation and comparison based on cultural diversity, and artistic sensibilities of the participants.
The exhibition inauguration will be preceded by African music and dances.
The sculptures will be on display to the public until 25 January, then it will be placed in the museum garden.
