Sacred and profane. Folk music for launeddas and four voices choir.

Music as a language capable of creating a connection between past and present.

The Polo Museale of Sardinia is presenting a concert by Fabio Melis, Launeddas player (typical Sardinian woodwind instrument), and by the singers from Cargeche, titled Sacred and profane. Folk music for launeddas and four voices choir. The performance will take place at the Museo Nazionale Archeologico ed Etnografico “G.A. Sanna” of Sassari on Sunday 3 September 2018, at 18:00.

The performers will execute a few pieces from past Sardinian repertoire, such as processional and the so-called “a ballo” music (dancing), performed during the festivities.

The Sanna museum, in full spirit of sharing the objectives associated with the European Year of the Cultural Heritage 2018, intends to give structure and support to the different forms and expressions of the island identity, encouraging the intercultural dialogue, and the awareness of the testimonies from the past.
