Every Friday in October, the Compendio Garibaldino of Caprera will welcome visitors to several exhibitions of books which belonged to Giuseppe Garibaldi.
The General’s library on Caprera with its 2700 books and pamphlets, is an exhaustible source of reading material which reveals Giuseppe Garibaldi’s multiple interests. The subjects of the texts are of science, technology, politics, and social nature, but there are also books about agriculture and agronomy which were very helpful in the management of the farm on Caprera. Of important notice are the books of literature and poetry, many of which in their original language.
The first appointment will be on Friday 2nd of October, from 14.30 to 18.30, with the exhibition of several books from the English literature collection.
Next appointments will be on the 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th October, 2020, with a different theme each time.
