Children’s book presentation: Il viaggio della grande Dea Madre – The journey of the great Mother Goddess – written by Monica Piancastelli, and illustrated by Rita Ravaioli.
The book talks about the journey of the first myth of the human culture in history, the Great Mother Goddess. The itinerary suggests the sense of continuity and persistence of thousands of years, from the famous Venus of Willendorf of the Ancient Old Age, the Madonnas with Child from the Medieval ages and the Reinassance time, and from the ethnological-anthropological point of view of the symbolic heritage of the myth. The Great Mother Goddess seems to identify with the Energy that moves Nature, and with Life as the Creative force, and with Death, respecting the cycle of the natural world and becoming the symbol of Life itself.

Book presentation, Malta: le costruzioni preistoriche – the prehistoric constructions
The archaeologist Monica Piancastelli is presenting the book Malta: le costruzioni preistoriche as part of the initiatives related to the exhibition Le civiltà e il Mediterraneo – Civilizations and the Mediterranean Sea. She will be the voice of Luigi Ugolini, an archaeologist from Romagna, who was among the first researcher during the thirties of the last century, committed to disseminating and promulgating the Maltese megalitismo in Italy. This phenomenon had great relevance to the Mediterranean history with the temples of Ggantjia, and Gozo, which are considered to be the most ancient ones in the world. Other temples like the Hagar Qim, Mnajdra, and Tarxien, seem to confirm the theory that Malta was considered to be a “sacred island”, the center of veneration and mystical practices of the prehistoric communities of the central Mediterranean Sea.
